Fockea edulis, commonly known as the "Hottentot Bread" or "Python Plant," is a unique and intriguing succulent plant native to parts of South Africa. It belongs to the Apocynaceae family and is known for its unusual growth habit and caudex.
Fockea edulis is a caudiciform plant, which means it develops a swollen, bulbous base or caudex. This caudex can become quite large and is the most distinctive feature of the plant.
